Provincial police spokesperson Col Adele Myburgh has confirmed that the boy was taken into custody in Ventersdorp on Friday.
The details are not clear yet but what is known is that she perished in a fire.

She was staying at her grandmother’s house in Tshing.
Police have started an investigation and it is presumed that an intruder broke in.
The coroner still needs to perform a postmortem and conduct forensic tests to learn more about the tragic incident.
