The Delft Crime Prevention Unit arrested the 58-year-old in Graafwater for the possession of the unlicensed firearm.
Police also found a number of different rounds of ammunition at his house.
The man was allegedly in possession of an R1 rifle with a telescopic sight fitted to it.
