28-year-old Mlungisi Thabathe was found dead in his car in Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal.
Thabathe was the owner of the venue which Mbuthu had allegedly stolen alcohol from.

Thabathe was released on bail last year after approaching the Durban High Court.
This after he was denied bail by a Magistrate’s Court for allegedly intimidating witnesses.
A community member told the publication that Thabathe was attempting to escape from his vehicle.

He was unable to do so and was shot dead.
He was declared dead on the scene.
TimesLIVEreported that Thabathe’s vehicle was shot a number of times before it came to a stop.

In other news,Briefly.co.zareported thatMthokozisi Ntumba was shot at close range.
Ntumba’s postmortem results revealed that he died due to a firearm injury to his chest.
Reports say that Ntumba’s body was found on the pavement with three bullet wounds.
Thecourtheard that the officers had shot at students inside a building.
According to the IPID affidavit, the students and Ntumba took off in different directions.
A witness pointed at Ntumba and the accused looked at him before leaving the scene.
