Ramaphosa has congratulated South African citizen and global technology pioneer Elon Musk for his company SpaceX’s historic flight into space on 30 May 2020

Musk was “overcome” with emotion after SpaceX’s first astronaut launch.

The launch sent Bob Behken and Doug Hurley to the International Space Station (ISS).

Pretoria born Elon Musk holds South African, Canadian and United States citizenship.

The strange name is a reference to an aircraft launched in the 1960s.
